I am not sure if being a fulltime homebased worker means that travel is a more or less welcomed diversion from the day-to -day rigors of my on-site planning team responsibilities. As a global account manager it is certainly part of the program and on average represents about one week a month. Over the next week I will try to remain productive, away from the comforts of my home office in a range of enabling (?) work settings. Contrary to the view of my teenaged son’s this will not be a vacation.
Packed and ready to go with laptop, headset, blackberry and digital camera. Where do I hope to be productive? Starting at the Ottawa Airport Air Canada Lounge on a Saturday night; a Marriot Hotel; the HOK London office (I know I can count on the one); on-site with a client at Canary Wharf; perhaps one or two Starbucks along the way and one last time at London Heathrow Airport. The mailbox is up to date and task list is current. I will keep you posted the challenges around keeping up with a endless stream of messages and more importantly the really cool places I find to do inspired work.
